On Tuesday, March 19, the Superior General of the Congregation, Fr. Paul Bednarzcyk, C.S.C., and the General Council joined the members of the Mother Province and the Sisters of Providence in Ruillé-sur-Loir to celebrate the feast of Saint Joseph, patron of the Holy Cross Brothers. It is in Ruillé-sur-Loir that Fr. Jacques-François Dujarié founded both the Sisters of Providence and Brothers of St. Joseph, who became the Brothers of Holy Cross when merged with the Auxiliary Priests of Blessed Basile Moreau.
After Mass, presided by Fr. Paul Valentin, C.S.C., the Superior General and the Superior of the Mother Province, dedicated a plaque to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Brothers of St. Joseph. This celebration was scheduled for the anniversary year in 2020-2021, but had to be postponed because of the Covid Pandemic. A festive lunch followed the Mass.
