In 1920, the priests and brothers of Holy Cross designated Our Lady of Sorrows, celebrated on September 15, as their patronal feast. This remains the principal feast for the four religious congregations within the religious family of Holy Cross. Our Lady of Sorrows is a living example of the motto Father Moreau gave to the Family of Holy Cross : Ave Crux, Spes Unica (« Hail the Cross, our only hope »).
From September 10 to 15, the Shrine offers scriptural meditations on the Seven Sorrows of Mary, through the stained-glass windows which are in the sanctuary of the church. Click on our Facebook page to discover them!
