On Sunday, January 18, we celebrated at the Shrine the feast of Blessed Basile Moreau during the Sunday parish mass. Led by the orchestra team, Father John De Riso, csc, rector of the Shrine of Blessed Basile Moreau and pastor of the parish of our Lady of Holy Cross, was the celebrant, and the homily was delivered by Father Louis Lesacher, csc, former pastor of the parish. During the celebration, a crucifix, which had been offered by Pope Pius IX to Blessed Basile Moreau, was transmitted to the Shrine by Mrs. Blandine Delahaye, on behalf of Father Antoine Bouleau, grand-nephew of Father Moreau. Many fathers, brothers and sisters of the religious family of Holy Cross were present, as well as priests and deacons of the diocese. The children went in procession to the tomb of Father Moreau to place candles there.
The Mass was followed by a festive meal at the Maison Saint-Julien. 115 people were present. A very beautiful and joyful day! To see pictures, check our FB page.
