It’s in Laigné-en-Belin, birthplace of Blessed Basile Moreau, that the priests, permanent deacons and Bishop Vuillemin of Le Mans met on Thursday, September 7 to launch the new pastoral year of the diocese. Laigné-en-Belin is located in the western missionary sector, with Father Hubert de Richemont and the priests of the Congregation of Holy Cross, originally from Haiti, Fathers Icemik Jean-Baptiste, Grégoire Jean-Pierre, Jean-Pierre Sagesse and Hérode Alexandre, who just arrived.

Tiphaine Hamerel, the assistant of the Shrine of Blessed Basile Moreau, was invited to speak to them about Father Moreau. After discovering the location of his birthplace, the important points of his life were recalled on the steps of the church, before entering it to discover the works of art related to Father Moreau and the Congregation of Holy Cross (stained glass windows, carved seal) and learn more about the spirituality and charisms of the founder.
