On Monday, February 13, the members of the board of direction of the Saint-Charles Sainte-Croix school complex (school, high school, campus) came to discover the educational heritage of Father Basile Moreau, founder of part of their school.
After a guided tour of the Shrine of Blessed Basile Moreau with Tiphaine Hamerel, they explored Father Moreau’s educational approach with Father Paul Valentin, csc. They then had Mass, led by Father Paul Elie Cadet, csc. After lunch and a walk through Le Mans to the places of Father Moreau’s life, as well as a visit to the Holy Cross cemetery, Sister Marie-André Rousseau, msc, welcomed them to the Solitude. Sister Jacqueline Bréchotte, msc, archivists of the Marianites, gave them a tour, including Father Moreau’s room, the oratory, the small museum and the chapel. The day ended at the Holy Cross High School with a testimony of Father Paul-Élie as a priest and educator of Holy Cross in Haiti.
